Student Dress Code
Rosebank Elementary School Dress Code Guidelines 2025-2026
Rosebank STEAM Magnet will not require students to wear Standard School Attire (SSA); however, we will follow the MNPS Dress Code.
Shirts
What You Should Wear
- Short or long sleeve shirts with or without collars, Rosebank Spirit Wear, T-shirts
What Not to Wear
- Sleeveless or spaghetti straps
- Shirts and dresses must have a sleeve
- Visible bellies (all shirts must cover midriff)
- No see-through clothing
- Derogatory or offensive language
- No profanity or curse words are allowed
- No offensive symbols, inappropriate language or inappropriate pictures
- If in question, don’t wear it to school
Pants
What You Should Wear
- Any pants, joggers, shorts, skirts, or dresses (does not have to be a solid color)
- Shorts, skirts and dresses must extend past your fingertips
What Not to Wear
- Biker shorts & bodysuits
- Clothes, including jeans, are not to be ripped or torn
Tights and Leggings
What You Should Wear
- Any tights or leggings, solid or patterned, are allowed under dresses or skirts
What Not to Wear
- Leggings or tights worn as pants
Hoodies, Jackets, Sweaters
What You Should Wear
- Rosebank hoodies worn inside or outside. Sweaters, sweatshirts and hoodies allowed inside or outside.
- Heavy jackets and coats are to be worn outside only
What Not to Wear
- Hoods are not allowed on the head inside the building
- Heavy jackets and coats are to be worn inside the building and must be placed inside lockers during the school day
All clothing must be appropriately sized. Clothing should not be overly small or overly large. Pants must be worn at the waist — no sagging or underwear visible.
We do suggest wearing sneakers daily. Please write your child’s name on the inside of coats, hoodies, etc.
